Steve said ” After spending my whole life in the UK I decided to move to beautiful Australia with my family. I opened my salon in on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Australia and have an active hands-on approach. I love to coach business, on setting up training, product launches, websites, video and using the internet for Hair and Beauty salons. I have a keen interest in technology and researching new opportunities for business growth and improved market share.”

I have many examples of newspaper and magazine features and success stories during the last 20 years of which are too numerous to list.

A sample is The Government Department of Trade and Industry published the following about my UK Hair and Beauty Salons called Secrets:

”Hairdressing and Beauty business Secrets has gained a reputation for being an excellent employer through its incorporation of work-life balance principles into a systematic programme of training, management skills and business systems development. Secrets is implementing leading edge policies in the management of time, stress and absence. Annual training plans have been introduced for the 44 staff, alongside regular appraisal and development discussions. Recruitment and retention are key issues in this industry. The majority of the 40 plus staff are female, including working mothers and women returning to work after a break. Flexible hours and different arrangements between school holidays and term-time, allow employees to meet domestic commitments, as well as social engagements. With fewer young recruits than in the past, a sympathetic response to the priorities of older employees is important in attracting and keeping a skilled workforce. But the needs of youngsters are not neglected – they often leave early on Fridays and Saturdays to get ready for nights out.”
